Jaguar Land Rover, represented by its official distributor in the Republic of Iraq, Sardar Trading Agencies, provided chassis number validation devices to the Ministry of Interior in the Kurdistan Regional Government. This was during a delegation from Sardar Trading Agencies meeting with Dr Sami Jalal the Director of Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Interior of KRG. During the meeting, the delegation headed by Mr Shamal Al-Bebani, a Board of Directors member of Sardar Group, sought ways of cooperation between the Ministry and Sardar Trading Agencies and dedicating the resources that would raise the level of technical readiness of the Ministry’s staff. The aforementioned devices work by connecting them to a particular module inside the car. The device software provides the ability to verify and validate the VIN in the checked cars. In addition to matching the VIN stamped in the car’s chassis and notifying the examiner if it is not.

The Ministry can use this technology to identify stolen cars, not to mention cars that have been subject to counterfeiting. In addition, this would raise the validation process efficiency while checking the cars entering through borders. This step comes as a part of the agreement to equip the Ministry of Interior in the Kurdistan Regional Government, which also includes training the technical staff of the Ministry to apply technology to serve the purposes above. From his side, Dr Jalal expressed the Ministry’s gratitude, stressing the keenness of the Ministry’s staff to provide professional services to citizens.
