At the invitation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Sardar Al-Bebany, Chairman & CEO of Sardar Group and President of Toyota Iraq, accompanied by Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki, Head of the JICA Iraq Office, visited one of the Egyptian Japanese Schools implementing the “Tokkatsu” holistic education approach.
The visit included a field tour in the presence of Professor Hiroshi Sugita, expert and supervisor of the Japanese educational experience in Egypt. During the tour, the delegation observed student activities aimed at character development and the promotion of discipline, teamwork, and social responsibility. The delegation praised the success of this educational model, which has integrated life skills into the formal curriculum since 2017.
The purpose of the visit was to review key JICA activities in Egypt and to gain a deeper understanding of the achievements of the Egyptian Japanese Schools (EJS), with a view to exploring the possibility of adapting and implementing applicable educational approaches in Iraq in line with local needs and context.
On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation also toured the Grand Egyptian Museum, where they explored its various galleries and collections that reflect the depth and continuity of human civilization
