Erbil –10th of October 2019, Sardar Trading Agencies (STA), a member of Sardar Group started to break the ground of an investment project of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) facility in Erbil – Gulan St. This event is an endeavor of series of projects STA will undertake since it started its operations in 2010 as an official JLR importer.

The Groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the elites of the society, with the blessing and presence of the Governor of Erbil Dr. Fursat Sofi, National Investment commission, Erbil Investment commission and her Majesty’s Deputy Consul General, Ms. Mel Smart of UK Consulate, Indian Consul General Mr. Chandramouli Kumar who praised the project and emphasized its importance to the society in his speech.

On the other hand, the managing director of JLR MENA Mr. Bruce Robertson, has also graced the event and expressed his gladness about this step.

Mr. Sardar Al Bebany, CEO of Sardar Group, stated the importance of this project as a clear and serious indicator of the global markets opening trades to the Iraqi market.

The project designed according to the new Jaguar Land Rover global new ARCH retail design standards, the facility will be distinguished by a modern sunshine gray rectangular façade; clean simple lines and dedicated Jaguar and Land Rover showrooms on the left and right respectively. Every new ARCH facility will showcase the expanded Jaguar and Land Rover lineups and will prominently feature elements of glass, walnut and sophisticated lighting to give the space a fresh and luxurious feel.

The new facility will be built on an area of 7,546m², with a buildup area of 17,420m² features a 26 display cars showroom, 20 bays of service/detail workshop, and a drive through reception area that offers in-lane service diagnostics. Also featured is a Jaguar Land Rover boutique that showcases the latest accessories, wheels and brand merchandise, a customer parking area, also equipped with electrical charging for EV. The estimated cost for this project is $7M. This facility is expected to be operational by June 2021.
