SAS AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES CO opens the new TOYOTA Authorized Service Station in Basra

Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Kazuya Nashida Chairman Basra Investment Commission Mr. Ali Chasib, TOYOTA Motors Corporation, Senior Managers, High Ranking Officials, Dignitaries, Tribal Leaders and Businessmen. TOYOTA Motor Corporation has appointed SAS automotive Service Co. to sell and service TOYOTA vehicles in various parts of Iraq.
SAS Automotive Services is a hybrid company between Iraq and Japan and a true partnership between Sumitomo and Sardar Group. The joint venture strongly believes that Japanese technology, know-how, global experience and Sardar Group’s local and regional market knowledge, long experience and high reputation will help develop SAS Automotive Services to the next stage to better serve the local community through SAS business activities and Corporate Social Responsibility.
SAS Automotive Services was founded in 2012, by Sardar Group and Sumitomo Corporation, one of the biggest trading and Investment Companies in Japan. The Sumitomo Corporation has been in business for over 400 years beginning in copper mining. Sumitomo expanded their business fields into other ventures across the globe to operate and own more than 790 different companies around the world today.
Sumitomo Corporation also has a long history in Iraq. Way back in 1964, it established its Automotive Business branch in Baghdad and since 2011 in Kurdistan.
SAS Automotive has aggressive plans to operate a nationwide network in all parts of Iraq to serve its respected customers. The opening of the Basra branch will make it the 5th SAS facility in the country. In 2015, SAS is hoping to open 2 more branches in Iraq.
