The American University of Kurdistan celebrated its 10th anniversary in a distinguished event attended by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Masrour Barzani, alongside a number of officials and diplomats, adding special significance to this occasion, which marks an important milestone in the educational journey of the region. In his speech, Mr. Masrour Barzani emphasized the importance of education as a fundamental pillar of development and highlighted the university’s pivotal role in preparing qualified cadres that contribute to building the region’s future.
The American University of Kurdistan honored Mr. Sardar Al-Bebany, Chairman of the Board of Sardar Group, for his contributions to supporting education and empowering youth. This gesture symbolized the critical role of companies and businessmen in enhancing community life by supporting education, building future generations, and investing in human capabilities as a foundation for sustainable development. On behalf of Mr. Sardar Al-Bebany, Mr. Chiwas Hawaizi, Government affairs and Public Relations Managar at the group, attended the celebration and received the certificate of appreciation.
In the context of reflecting on the institution’s educational role, the university administration presented a brief overview of its achievements over the past decade, affirming that these accomplishments result from the integration of its vision with the leadership’s outlook, represented by the President of the Region, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, and Prime Minister Mr. Masrour Barzani, since the university’s establishment in 2014.
The message of the event was clear: education plays a vital role in building a developed society, a strong economy, and a promising future for Kurdistan Region.
