Erbil – Iraq. On November 14th, 2019, Mr. Koji Aso and his delegation visited Sardar Group and Iraq for the first time. During their visit, many fruitful meetings related to heavy construction machinery and the material handling equipment business opportunities took place for the Iraqi market with the presence of Mr. Sardar Al-Bebany (CEO & Chairman of Sardar Group), Mr. Ryo Onodera (General Manager, Construction Equipment, Ship, Aerospace & Lease Unit, Sumitomo Corporation Middle East) & Mr. Oki Kawahara (General Manager, Sumitomo Corporation Erbil office) and the Sardar Machinery team.

Mr. Sardar Al-Bebany discussed many topics and reaffirmed the commitment and importance of Japanese Construction Equipment’s role in the rehabilitation needs of many Iraqi cities. Also, it was discussed that the current situation of the Iraqi market and the future potential and role of products that Sumitomo can provide in building a new future in Iraq in addition to providing aftersales services for current and future Japanese Construction Equipment users while ensuring the protection of the brand names and reputation in the market.

After the meetings concluded, the Sumitomo delegation took the opportunity to visit Toyota Iraq, Sakura Park and potential customers accompanied by the Sardar Machinery Team.
