As usual, Sardar Group held the annual Sakura tree planting ceremony in the new Erbil municipality building. Such as this planting ceremony, the annual celebration of Fukushima Sakuramori’s global projects in Iraq attended by high-ranking government officials, most notably the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, Mr. Sasan Awni, and the Governor of Erbil, Mr. Omid Khoshnaw, in addition to a Japanese delegation from Tadano and Sumitomo.
This year’s tree planting ceremony marks the fifth year of the annual global Fukushima Sakura Mori project, for which Sardar Group imports trees from Japan. Since 2016, Sardar Group has imported more than 1,400 Sakura trees from different regions of Japan such as Yamagata, Kyoto, and Fukushima. These trees were planted in many regions of Iraq, such as Baghdad, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk, so that all Iraqis could enjoy their beauty. Through this, Sardar Group aims to spread the beauty of Sakura trees in all regions of Iraq that have suitable conditions for the growth of these trees. The Sakura, as soon as it blooms, will become a symbol of joy and a source of pride in the fertile soil of the homeland in which its children invest for a bright, green, blooming future.
